This Could Be the Holy Grail of Frizz Fighting Hair Products
Is your hair hassled by humidity? I have found (IMO) THE best frizz-fighting product: Color Wow Dream Coat, available in straight and curly hair formulas. This is the only anti-frizz aid I’ve used that actually works! My daughters and I are obsessed with it.
Before going on a recent trip to Costa Rica, I was determined to find a hair product that would keep me from looking like Witch Hazel. I purchased a few well-reviewed frizz-fighting products to experiment with and took each one out for a test run on humid days. The hands-down winner was Color Wow Dream Coat.
Dream coat works on all types of hair. Especially those with frizzy hair, dry hair and coarse, wavy, or curly hair. It’s also safe for gray, colored and bleached hair, as well as those with Keratin or Brazilian-treated hair.

Frizz-Free Straight Hair
In the pic collage below you can see me “testing” Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray. I followed the directions and did my regular blow dry routine with a round brush. Then I spent two humid, rainy days doing errands and walking the dog to test its “amazing humidity-proofing powers.”
The Supernatural Spray is heat-activated so it must be used with a blow dryer and taut brush. But it’s a heat protectant, so you don’t have to worry about damaging your luscious locks.
Dream Coat keeps my hair frizz-free for days. No joke…my girls and I can go three to four days without washing our hair and it’s not weighed down or greasy. I’m not sure how a product that keeps hair smooth is lightweight and not oily. In fact, I think Dream Coat might be making my hair healthier, read my theory below.

Frizz-Free Curly Hair
If you’ve got wavy or curly hair and don’t want to blow dry it straight, Color Wow Dream Coat for Curly Hair creates smooth, frizz-free curls and waves without the crunch. This “miracle moisture mist” works well when air drying or using a diffuser. My daughters were in awe of this stuff. They let their hair dry naturally while we were in Costa Rica and it looked great, as you can see in the collage pic below.

Healthier Hair
Since Dream Coat is so lightweight, I can go three to four days without washing my hair, which means less blow drying. Plus, Dream Coat doesn’t need to be re-applied after each wash because it lasts up to three shampoos, so the product lasts longer.
The way I see it, not only does Dream Coat make my hair look better, but one could argue it’s making my hair healthier since I’m washing and styling it less. AND, using fewer products less often has to be saving me money. Right?
Can’t Commit? Get A Kit!
I know, it can be hard to commit – buying new products to sample can be expensive – which is why I purchase a mini or travel-sized product whenever possible. This way it’s not a big loss if I don’t like it. But, if I do, it’s a win-win because I found a great new product and I’ve got a travel size to take on vacation.

My girls and I have loved almost every product we’ve tried. For instance, I ended up loving the Color Wow Dream Cocktail, a kale-infused leave-in conditioner designed to reduce “hair breakage by 50%.” I use it on my ends in combination with the Dream Coat Supernatural Spray and love the results. My hair really looks healthier; I’ve noticed less breakage and fewer split ends.
Tips
- Be generous with the product and make an effort to really coat the hair. Color Wow Dream Coat is super light and won’t weigh hair down.
- Using a flat iron (I love my CHI iron) after blow drying can help smooth hair in extremely high humidity, like in the rainforest, or if you’ve got a special event on the night of a downpour.
- Remember to use a heat protectant on the days you wash and style your hair without applying Dream Coat (remember, it can last up to three shampoos).
- On the days I don’t re-apply Dream Coat, as in the pic below, I apply Color Wow Dream Cocktail to my ends and Moroccanoil Perfect Defense heat protectant spray all over. Then I straightened my hair with my favorite flat iron of all time: the CHI Lava Ceramic Hairstyling Iron – PRO (it’s AA-mazing).
