One Simple Way to Silence Your Seat Belt Warning

I recently learned the one simple way to silence the seat belt warning. I discovered this little gem in a friend’s car when I went to buckle my seatbelt. I said, “This is brilliant, I need one! Where did you get it?” Then she did me one better and gave me the one in her car! Love her.

How It Works

The seat belt silencer is the single simplest way to silence your seat belt warning. It is nothing more than the latch plate of a seat belt. Slide it into the buckle until it locks in place, just like a regular seat belt. It tricks your car into thinking the seat belt is fastened and silences the warning sound.

You need this if…

1. Your dog likes to sit in the front passenger seat (as my dog does) and your car doesn’t stop beeping that the seat belt isn’t fastened.

2. You put anything heavy in your passenger seat, such as packages, work supplies, etc. that force you to buckle the seat belt to make the noise stop.

This pic is the seat belt silencer in my car. You can also see the protective car seat cover on the passenger seat. If you need car seat covers, find my favorites here.

Talk about a clever product I didn’t know I needed. I can’t believe I never thought to look for this.

Where To Get It

Where can you find the best seat belt silencers? Amazon, of course. There’s no shortage of variety and prices start around $8.

I would be remiss not to provide a reminder here that a seat belt silencer is not to be used in place of an actual seat belt for people. Always wear a seat belt.
